# The synchronization agent

The Synchronization Agent allows you to synchronize your documents directly in your cloud without going through the website, it also allows you to synchronize your documents that are on the cloud on your pc and documents received by a share.

# The advanced mode

The advanced mode is very useful, it allows you to :

  • To your current syncs,

  • Synchronize a folder from your computer to the cloud,

  • Synchronize a folder from the cloud to your computer,

  • To access the parameters of your synchronizations,

# Conflict Management

If two users change the same document simultaneously, the document cannot be synchronized. The synchronization agent then indicates through the synchronization monitoring interface that a conflict exists. A pop-up agent alerts you.

You will then have to go to the interface "Activities" of the NumSync agent to correct this conflict by selecting the conflict and choosing a conflict resolution method:

⦁ Keep the local version (your version).

⦁ Keep the remote version (the version you have online).

⦁ Rename your file (conflict) and manage this with your colleague later manually.

# Changing preferences for shared folders

The "Preferences" interface gives you the possibility to modify the name of your computer, the language of the interface as well as the sharing policy. When you receive your first share, the agent asks you to set your "synchronization policy". In the advanced mode, the Preferences tab allows you to change this setting.

We strongly recommend the second choice, which is defined as follows:

ask me to set or not set the sync to exchange share.

At any time you can synchronize the folder to your computer workstation through the synchronization management interface (Synchronize from the cloud).

# Monitor synchronization

Within the advanced mode, the "Activities" tab allows you to view the status of your folder synchronizations.

You can thus consult the current synchronization tasks but also manage conflicts.

An image If a folder received as a read-only share is synched, your sync will be in "descending" mode. If you add content to this folder, your sync status will always be "Out of Sync". Indeed, the elements you add will be on your computer but not in the cloud (read only).

# Synchronization of special characters

As for synchronization with so-called "special" characters, we strongly advise you to go to here this will ensure that you don't make a mistake in the name that you give to your documents and thus avoid conflict errors.

# MacOS specific

# Drag and drop

To synchronize your documents you can do it via the desktop directly without going through the synchronization interface, you just have to select your document and drag it to the icon corresponding to your solution's icon.
